Hello!

Hi, I’m Cortnee, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Play Therapist, and the heart behind Cortnee Counseling. Children communicate through play, and that’s exactly where I meet them. I work with kids navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, separation anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, grief, friendship difficulties, trauma, and big life changes, using the natural language of play to help them learn and heal. I also offer counseling for parents who want to deepen their parenting approach and strengthen the attachment bond with their child. I partner closely with caregivers throughout the process, because the relationships children come home to matter just as much as what happens in the therapy room.

My Approach

Collaborative

I believe in a collaborative approach to working with children, adolescents, and families. Through child-centered play therapy and evidence-based techniques, I partner with clients to build emotional regulation, social skills, and resilience. Sessions are tailored to each child’s unique needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment where growth and confidence can flourish.

Joy

I believe therapy should be a space where children and families experience joy while learning and growing. Through play, creativity, and exploration, clients build emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence in a way that feels natural and uplifting. My goal is to make therapy a place where progress is paired with positive experiences and genuine excitement for growth.
